The Twelve Traditions

ONE - Each member of Alcoholics Anonymous is but a small part of a great whole. A.A. must continue to live or most of us will surely die. Hence our common welfare comes first. But individual welfare follows close afterward.

How do you feel about tradition one?

i have made two sat am meetings in the last month and would like to say i felt very comfortable at the club and got alot from the honest ,focused discussion. I will try to make more meetings at the club....Thanks for being there for me!!

I have felt for a while if we are going to be anonymous to each other, supposedly, rather than at the level of press, radio & tv, yet we do get each other's names, #'s etc., if introductions are made at the beginning, why not say a person who died from this disease. As long as it does not become an issue that impacts AA as a whole, but is my choice to remember I am not alone, though many others were , I have that right and priviledge. That is an example how the traditions work in my mind. One of Many, Michèle
